After Huckley arrived, I had myself a little vacation...in bed! The two of us spent a week kissing and snuggling, cuddling and cooing. My husband took care of the rest of the household, relishing in some special time with the two older children.
I cherish that week and I have been oh so fortunate to have experienced a week with each of my babes. I loved these quiet, peaceful pauses from the busier (and louder!) days I have come to know...and love.
I had looked forward to this vacation of sorts for months in advance. I visited the local yarn shop for just the right wool, and scoured my own stash for treasures. I looked for patterns and thought of gifts for the future...Huckley was born in July, afterall!
And then I found a dog-eared, wrinkled copy of a pattern my friend Kathy had given me a long while back. Laid up in bed with my sweet newest treasure, I knit up a frenzy of these. One for my girl, one for my step-daughter, one for my sister, one for my neice, and one for me! And now Forrest wants one, too!
This is Sunshine's.
Purple of course! I'm told it's the next best thing to pink (and when you say pink, you have to yell it)!
It's a very easy knit, and obviously (as I knit up so many in one week, in between lots of kisses and cuddles), it is quick! For Sunshine's, I decreased the width by one column and it fits perfectly.
I'm so happy she'll have a cozy noggin for these chilly autumn nights.
And she loves it! Success!!!

I love this headband- I had made one a while back and it just ended up too wide. This one looks perfect!
My Summer's hair is so fair- and I thought Asa was fair! She's just beautiful, and looks like a little fairy to me!

Melanie, you are a sweetheart. Summer would love to hear she looks like a fairy!
I have made quite a few of these headbands and I agree that they are quite wide. For the winters here in B.C., a cozy head is so key to my happiness outdoors. Maybe I'll knit a more fashionable slimmer version soon!
