With our mountain papa home for a few days, we wanted to have a family day at our local ski hill. It was the first time back for Forrest...and a very special first time on skis for our fearless girl.
It was a beautiful day together, and Huckley and I stood at the bottom, cheering on with great enthusiasm. I remember so well being her age and learning to ski...and soon we will all be shredding down the slopes. I love that homeschooling allows the freedom to pursue those interests on our own time. And I am grateful that my children love to ski!
a special ride to the top of the bunny hill and down in Papa's arms ~ he loves the speed!
After two times with Papa's help, no one was allowed to help her on the tow! I followed her up, trotting behind her with encouragement, and at halfway suggested she let go. I stood there as she tossed back over her shoulder, "No mama, I'm going all the way up...bye!"
These signs will always make me giggle!
Forrest was so patient while his little sister learned to ski. While I took the two littles in for a warm-up, he and Papa took several runs from the chair. He could be out there all day!
It's pretty handy having a mountain ski guide for a Papa ~ lessons are free! And by the time our afternoon on the slopes was over, we had another child hooked on the sport...and she was flying!
Enjoy your weekend friends! I hope you all get outside for some fun, wintry play!

These photos are so adorable. Your children have such expressive faces and your photography captures that so well. That day looks so splendid.

Thanks Elizabeth ~ that is so kind! The day was a little bit of perfection in a week of sibling rivalry and papa away. Just what we needed :)
