Just in time for the first day of Spring, our friends called in the morning to tell us some babies were born recently and needed to meet some other kids. As we had nothing lined up for the day, we hurried over for a lovely visit in the sunshine. And oh! what fun it is to play with baby goats...the very goats whose mamas bless us with their fresh milk twice a week ~ such a treat! I'm so happy it is the season for farm fresh milk...around here we call it liquid gold. And it couldn't come from a cleaner, more loved farm than this. Our friends surely love their goats and other critters. This is our fifth year visiting on the first day of spring ~ it's become a little tradition. I was also very keen to photograph all their structures for our future farm companions here at home...something to show the husband.
Back at home, today we had plans to spend with our dear Friends From Across The River. But the snow falling heavily from the skies (!) had both us mamas reconsider, and an indoor day was declared. I realize I haven't been providing enough crafting opportunities for my little ones lately so we decided to make a Spring wreath out of egg cartons.
And it wouldn't be Spring without the very first of many bouquets collected from little hands and thrust into my arms with exuberance and smiles after an outing with Papa...

what a gift your first day of spring post is! i don't know which is cuter, your babies, the baby goats or the cheery wreath! happy spring to you dear jules!

Oh, Jules -- what adorable baby goats! I'm hoping to add a milk goat to the homestead soon. And that goat house is simply beautiful.
I'm planning a craft weekend with my wee girl and I love your Easter wreath project -- so sweet! Thanks for sharing your beautiful family! xo

Thank you for sharing those pictures - I am super interested in the goat barns, those are beautiful!
Also, that project is just perfect for us - we need a little pick-me-up from the wintry weather.
