A first...I knit myself a sweater. While I have made many for my children ever since becoming a mama, I had never made one for myself. I finally had an opportunity when I discovered that I had no project for a long car-ride. I searched my stash and found one lonely skein of dreamy merino wool. At 4pm in the afternoon, like a madwoman, I drove up our valley to purchase a few more skeins before the store closed. Maybe another addicted knitter out there could appreciate my desperation, muttering under my breath, "Please be open, please please be open..."
And they were. And I bought it all, despite the price tag ~ afterall, how could I possibly go on a road trip with no knitting? Really, desperate times allow one to throw caution to the wind and buy that decadent yarn, right?
I think so. And the colours are so very me...with lovely blues, purples and greens shimmering like the dragonflies that were so abundant here in August and September. A big indulgence for a homespinner like me who is used to slightly imperfect skeins, however wonderful they may be.
